Product Information - Abrasives
Ekamount Products use a specially developed grade of aluminum
oxide on their abrasives specifically made for woodworking. Sheets,
disks, portable belts, and wide belts are all available. The sheet
sizes are available in 9"x11", and 4 1/2" x 11". They are used for
hand sanding and orbital sanding in 80 to 240 grits. Disks are
available primarily in 5" diameter. There are 3 different disks
stocked with 3 different backs: a paper back used for hand and
orbital sanding, commonly used on whitewood sanding, and is
available in 80 grit to 400 grit; cloth back which is used for heavy
duty sanding of profiles and edges and is available in 80 grit to
180 grit; and a cloth velcro back used for hand sanding and orbital
sanding in 80-180 grit. Portable belts are stocked in 40 to 120
grits in 3"x21", 3"x24", and 4"x24". There are two sizes available
in wide belt--37"x60" and 37"x75" and in 40-220 grit. Stiff cloth
provides a more uniform sanding surface and the anti-static provides
a dust-free surface, cleaner work environment, less heat, and a
longer lasting belt. Special sizes and grits are available on a
special order basis.
